Mrs. Mala Dhingra
A committed social worker dedicated to various causes, including healthcare, education, and women empowerment. A self-driven individual passionate to make a difference through meaningful initiatives and collaborative efforts.
Maternal lineage traces to Gujjarkhan (present-day Pakistan), where my grandfather, Sardar Sohan Singh Anand Ji grew up, and ultimately started his own tyre business during Partition time. Paternal grandfather, Sardar Mela Singh Ji, traces to Jhelum (present-day Pakistan), where during Partition he walked through Jammu leaving behind all assets. Eventually, he was able to start his successful timber business and built the same from ground-up.
She did her schooling from Loreto Convent and Modern School Vasant Vihar. Her further specialization, BA Honours in Economics from Jesus & Mary College, combined with her experience in life instilled her with a skill set including a strong growth mindset, program management, effective communication and time management. Married in 1994 to Sardar Harbans Singh Dhingra who is part of the Berger Paints Group. His grandfather Sardar Niranjan Singh Dhingra laid the foundation of the family paint business.
She has worked with various NGOs and is the trustee and co-founder of Sukhman Foundation.
Objectives of Sukhman Foundation are:
- To provide food, shelter, medication, kindness, safety and care to sick, wounded and abandoned animals, for as long as they need it.
- To provide all types of medical aid to the needy and deserving persons.
- To provide education of all types to all sections of society.
- To help the poor, abandoned, needy and deserving.
- Women empowerment and women upliftment.
- To reach out to the underprivileged & widows in need.
- Girl child education
The trust is addressing dogs in distress as well as providing meals to street animals. It is also running a successful charitable dispensary in Sant Nagar with a physiotherapist & general physician and a charitable dental clinic in Sant Nagar with a neuro therapist on call. The trust is running a comprehensive health camp every month for slum school in Sri Niwaspuri and has also worked on various projects through Rotary Club of Garden City.
Expanding her social works, she is now a part of the board of trustees of Sri Anandpur Sahib Foundation as a treasurer, working towards fulfilling the aims and Objectives of the Foundation.
